Okay... yes, the tinto is excellente, the sherry is something I'm acquiring a taste for... but the cognac-equivalent is dangerous. Wonderful caramel-fruited bouquet, each sip a... haiku. Rolled over and contemplated. Reflecting different things about oneself.
That was dinner. Chicken, garlic, helados, gazpacho. Gentle teasing.
Otherwise... this morning I missed breakfast and was a bit late because of an unexpected call from
tenacious_snail, who (considering what we've wrestled through) abundantly deserves her adjective. And said goodbye to
patgreene from Madrid airport. Then worked with JA on configuring an el-cheapo ADSL router, finally giving up by lunchtime. Then writing part of a proposal, reviewing some C++ and a long dull WebEx presentation on drilling, from home.
The three amigas should be landing in a few more hours... I'm off to the town square and la taberna ingles to hang out with the other scientists. Funny that the best bar in a small Spanish town is a fake English pub.
I need to book a reservation for Saturday... I looked into cheap airfares to places like London or Rome for the weekend, but will probably drive instead to Lisbon.
