Did not oversleep :)

Wakeup call at 4:50am, so I'm up and moving and headed hopefully to at least Resolute today. :) Even with less than 3 hours of sleep...

round and round...

Back in Yellowknife... we flew out 80 minutes, tried to land, too foggy, aborted and flew 80 minutes back. Now waiting for a weather update and possible second attempt....

Update: weather didn't improve, so I'm stuck overnight here. Typical Arctic travel issues... I get stranded in Yellowknife about every three years, for one reason or another. Tomorrow's rescheduled flight would be at 1:30pm, if Cambridge Bay weather improves.

So... two steps ^H flights forward, one flight back. An interesting way to spend my birthday, flying in circles across the Arctic Circle. But I'm annoyed that I can't get the tests rolling starting Monday.

OK, that was strange...

This year's trip northward is already proving to be an adventure... now things have gotten strange. My hotel caught on fire... I heard the alarm and thought it was a drill, unhurriedly walked outside and looked up to see smoke billowing from the roof. Turns out they had a work crew re-roofing, and someone got careless. It was out quickly, in any case, and wasn't near my room. But... okay... hmm.

Lost camera at airport security...

I can't find my birthday present... a new Panasonic digital camera from cyan_blue. And I just remembered when I last saw it. At Edmonton airport security, they insisted in emptying out most of my laptop bag, and set the camera to one side. I don't think it went back in the bag...

Sigh. Now I need to find some way to contact airport security in Edmonton and find out if a similar camera was found earlier today.
