More work today, a good thing as I'm behind on a couple of things. Four hours spent hauling kids to medical appointments. Back to the office for 2 hours. Then my own appointment, then an ill-fated brief stop for a hug on the way home...

Seventeen years ago...

Just past midnight, after 30 hours of labor, a new, blue-eyed baby emerged, looked around, and wide-eyed began quietly observing his new surroundings. He's been intense and observant and thoughtful ever since those first minutes. With much love, happy birthday, James!
