A friend of mine drives Mars Surveyor, likewise ;-). I'm not working on either of the MER rovers (colleagues here are heavily involved in their task-planning, but I'm not) but would be happy to talk-shop. suzimoses lives within walking distance of me, on the other side of the tracks...
