The building inspector has come and gone... I still need a few nail guards, and another water heater brace.

But... the city is installing new water and sewer lines (every half-century) allong the street outside. It's been going on for two weeks, with plates and potholes and trenches. A few minutes ago, just as I was about to shower and change to go in to work, they hit an unmarked water supply line. Fountain on the street, now no water. I haven't bathed in a day and a half, and much of that time was spent covered in sweat and sawdust. I was going to shower last night, but decided to wait until after the inspection (since I'd be getting dirty again). Serves me right for waiting.... grr.

Now, should I go to work smelly and with dust in my hair and beard, or stay home? It may be hours before water service is restored, and there are no onsen in Mountain View... sigh.

Ummm, howabout door #3? Find a friend who'd be willing to loan you a shower. There must be someone relatively close to you (but not on the same street!) who'd help you out in this pinch.

Bummer, dude. I hope your water is back on soon, and you get to be clean soon!

Showers at NASA

For future reference, should you find yourself in need, there are showers in the bathrooms in Building 19 (ex-barracks, now offices) in the Research Park. I am guessing the NASA gym has showers too... if that is accessible for you.
