One spends youth and middle age learning to manage one's time and money, then in old age learning to manage one's health... which is even scarier.
(no wonder that certain old folks talk obsessively about their health or medicine the same way that some 30-40-somethings talk about their stocks or the market or some teens-20-somethings talk about their leisure activities... they might even be the same sort of underlying person, at different stages of life)
Another: that my three children, and their development, health, and how they grow are my greatest joy and source of wealth... it doesn't matter if I die someday with an estate, or climb some mountain... it matters that they're healthy, balanced, and well-developed human beings.
