Falling or not...
May. 3rd, 2002 02:05 amPat was grumpy with me Tuesday (usual poly disagreements) but we mended fences OK yesterday. Made up nicely (or perhaps not-so-nicely...).
We're currently making rapid progress on the Mars science collaboration study -- we finally decided on which cameras to use to generate the panorama, bought them, and I personally picked one up today (Thursday). Tomorrow's a design review of the rover vehicle. I'm also taking over technical management of the main tasks of the vehicle health management program for the next-generation shuttle. And I'll be in Washington, DC on 5/19-22 for business.
Yesterday a physicist/SF writer (Gregory Benford) came over to NASA and gave a lecture on progress in creating workable solar sails for interplanetary and perhaps interstellar propulsion... I managed to get visitor badges set up for
sinboy and
clairaide. I didn't know that Rose's father was an SF writer, although I had read one of his books in the past... it also turned out that he and Benford are buddies.
Today after work, I came home, girded my elbows and knees and put on rollerblades for the first time. I skated down the sidewalk to a park and returned without falling over :-).
And then spent three hours on AIM this evening, mostly chatting with my East Coast *poing*-object ;-).
