Shaken, not stirred
May. 13th, 2002 11:08 pmAn hour ago, I was talking on the telephone to J (who had an awful day, her car died -- totalled -- 50 miles from home, and she had to take busses back), trying to be supportive, and suddenly the bed lurched, and everything began vibrating, pulsing at about 1-2 Hz. It was a moderate earthquake, lasting about 15-20 seconds after the initial jolt. Probably about a 4-5 level, since the pictures stayed on the walls. A bit unsettling... (grin). Up above Santa Rosa, J felt nothing.
I remember being on the phone to an airline reservations agent, from work, when Loma Prieta hit in 1989... now time to load the kids in the car and pick up Pat from the airport.
The weekend was lovely, but more details will follow...
