Procrastinating...
Jun. 5th, 2002 10:44 pmSitting here in my office at half past ten, reading e-mail when I should be focussed on proposal-writing. I'll probably be here until two or three. (stretch)
I'm far behind on personal email as well as LJ replies...apart from 4 proposals due Friday, there's the ongoing remote science project, wrestling with the bureaucracy over offices, computers and travel budgets, and I had a 3-hour review of part of the Northrop contract for vehicle health management. With a telecon on the same thing at 7:30am tomorrow.
I also went over to a friend's house for lunch today, toolbox-in-hand... it was pleasant. Even though towards the end I was handed another "just because I like having you around, don't think that I'm interested in anything more" notification. I put on a brave face, and smiled anyway, even though things like that automatically bring up all sorts of rejection scripts for me. But I couldn't allow myself to be too glum going into the Northrop review afterwards. One notable quote over lunch: "you're the wrong person, at the right time." (grin) That was a good one...
