Railroad follies
Aug. 10th, 2002 01:13 pmIn two weeks, I have business in Los Angeles. So I thought, "let's bring Pat and the kids, and take Amtrak instead of the usual Southwest flight." Fine. My kids are train-crazy, anyway.
But we arrive on Sunday, 8/18, at 9pm and... all rental car agencies in LA Union Station are closed after 3pm. Now *that* makes sense... (shakes head). I may have to take a cab... to LAX, to pick up a rental car. An additional $40 out-of-pocket. So much for city center-city center travel without airport hassles...
Otherwise, i'm trying to overcome writer's block regarding my presentation next week... maybe I'll just take the kids ice skating instead. Tomorrow, off to Washington, DC...
