good finishes
Jun. 5th, 2003 12:15 amTonight could have been a challenge, as it started out strained (at home) and with neither
geekchick or I in top form... but it was good. We had sushi nearby, talked, cuddled back at the hotel, and talked... reacquainting ourselves and relaxing. No coffee, though I had a machine in my room.
Outside in the hallway, there's a large security guard. Given the star-in-circle lapel pin and dark suit, it looks like the Secret Service. He said he'd be posted there all night. Why they'd be guarding a VIP out here in Tyson's Corner (instead of in a downtown DC hotel) is a mystery...
My meeting with the FAA began strained -- two attendees felt obliged to rip my presentation. I had to begin as soon as I arrived, as the prior speaker had left. But it too settled down and was reasonably productive. More tomorrow.
