Boxing Day drive
Dec. 27th, 2003 01:02 pmTraffic yesterday was horrible... 10-30-mile backups in places along I-75. Nonetheless, we made it the 512 miles here in about ten hours (by virtue of cruising at 80-85 otherwise ;) Imagine ten hours of rush-hour-like traffic...
Our rented V8-powered Ford sedan actually got decent mileage at that velocity, about 23mpg. Better than my similarly-powered Mustang at home.
Things at
patgreene's mom's house are much lower-key and more casual... the Christmas tree is a plastic 5' potted pseudo-plant with a string of lights ;-). Pat had an argument with her mother last night over "the gay agenda", but it was still at a friendly, smiling level without gratuitous insults. *Much* lower stress levels here, in general.
I made it to bed by 4:30am and slept in until 11:30... ulp. We may go to the beach later today, or to a movie. (stretch)
