Productive
Apr. 1st, 2004 03:02 amMy air traffic research program has been reformulated as its area is replanned for a FY06 new start. I've argued in its favor... our 5-year budget has been increased from $68M to $173M. Not that this will stick, but the eventual $100M or so is still an ongoing improvement. Gamesmanship... at least I have reasonably solid numbers for labor and facilities.
Another late-afternoon marsh walk with
hopeforyou, who was in a different set of meetings. She seemed more alert and calmer than the day before. We saw flocks of wheeling finches, and ducks hiding along the path.
David's birthday went very well, orchestrated both at school and at home by
patgreene. He was tired and happy. Pat made him a Pokemon-ball red-and-black cake.
Ice skating... I have sold myself short. Rather than being the worst student in class... I'm one of the best! Tonight we worked on our compulsory maneuvers. I'm the only FS1 student that can routinely get the required seven revolutions (or more) in place, in a two-footed spin. I had the best waltz jumps in class. My half-flip has improved, as have my backwards edges. Muscle memory has kicked in! With more practice on the program (set to music), I think that I could test in a couple of weeks, maybe even pass...
And I went to Sunset and Port, where I had a relaxing time, talked to friends and met
questioner for the first time! (smile)
