weird Wednesday...
May. 13th, 2004 07:45 amYesterday I was feeling a bit tired and edgy, slightly clingy... naturally, this was the workday this week with the most performance pressure. Two hours up in front of a dozen people this morning... talking about what a good job JL and I had done in cost estimating and program planning for our TSWIM air traffic middleware project. Dull stuff, but I suppose I should be happy to be an exemplar. Once on stage, adrenaline carried me through the talk.
Then... another briefing, a review of our drilling automation work after lunch. I'd been up the previous night until 2:30am working on these slides. We're getting ready to propose new work next week to the Exploration Office. A planning meeting, then I was off to take
patgreene to the airport for her trip to Los Angeles. I was coming down from the adrenaline kick by then...
(As an aside, I'm getting sucked into lunar mission planning as the Ames representative to a Lunar Architecture Assessment panel, as of yesterday... may be going to Houston a few times.)
Then, I unwound... met
p3aches for coffee in Campbell and shared our weeks, fed the kids at home, then went to Sunset and Port. Ahhh... soaking in a hot tub was just what I needed. Very pleasant company, and I got more practice in... including asking for minor things, and joining groups rather than hovering on the periphery. (smile) A positive difference, a month later.
