We left early Saturday and drove 3+ hours to Granada, barely getting tickets. Then went to Gibraltar after dark... the next day to Morocco.

Sep. 21st, 2004 09:32 amJust as we got everything working... this morning, the PI (Carol) asked me to test at two more sites. Gah. On the last full day of testing. I will have to extend testing into tomorrow and may have to delay everyone's trip home.
I've already had to rein in one pointed rebellion, this morning... I don't enjoy the call-on-the-carpet bit, but better to intercept little problems before they grow into bigger discipline issues and jeopardize the mission.
Today's the make-or-break day for this years' tests... time to roll.

Sep. 21st, 2004 12:51 pmTechnical goals met.
We have successfully established communications and transferred command files and image data to/from the two hilltop test locations.
This meets (actually exceeds, with some additional automation tests) our stated goals and objectives for this field test. In addition, CS has asked us to test communications to two other possible sites for next year (near gossan caves, and purple shale near Site 1), which I believe we can accomplish within the original time constraints.
Go us. :)
[update: it's after lunch here (4pm) and now the gossan site is done, too... one more and we're completely done except for (a) packing) and (b)
hopeforyou confirming that she can see the files from NASA. ]
