A non-golfer in VT...

I'm going to be spending next week in Fairlee, Vermont at some resort or other, attending a kickoff meeting for a new lunar regolith sampling prototype (we're doing the automation and controls). The Army guys who are running this meeting have set up the agenda to meet early and after dinner in order to leave afternoons free. They all play golf. Guess what this resort features... I don't play and don't choose to learn. So will be on my own afternoons... anyone familiar with the area have any ideas? Places to visit? I haven't been to VT in 20 years, and that was in winter... hmm. I intend to do *something* fun or constructive...

slight turbulence

Things are still overall looking well, with a bit of turbulence... despite my car refusing to start this morning and having to be towed to the shop. Which then meant being late to meet LH, then (after LH dropped me at home) had to miss a meeting with SD. OTOH, my NASA Headquarters program manager called me this morning and innocently asked if I'd received the extra $180K in project funds, yet... a pleasant surprise. :)

And we're being asked to bring cardboard and Legos and pieces of wood to the project kick-off meeting next week in Vermont... to make mockups of possible instrument combinations. That sounds like fun... A room full of Army Corps of Engineers folks and NASA and JPL scientists, in a room playing with Legos to make lunar lander models. Heh.
