shifts in places

Last Thursday I took over mission operations responsibility from HC, who was returning to the US after 3 weeks. This meant that I was both the liaison to the science team, as well as having to plan and balance the needs of different instruments and their support staff. And working late hours -- until 2am Thursday, until 3am Friday night.

At the same time, tenacious_snail was finishing her visit... we had a lovely weekend.

To Africa and back again, pt. 3

I had booked tenacious_snail and I in Tarifa, in order to catch a morning ferry across the Mediterranean to Tangier. After a non-optimal group tour a year ago, this time I paid an extra E60 to hire a private guide and cab for the day. It was a *much* better experience, well worth the additional cost IMO...
