Passing notes

Go Steelers. Heh. If only because I like their uniform colors better. Not that I'm going to actually watch the game.

Buttercups, purple irises, blossoming pear trees... flowers are appearing widely. :) A springlike respite. Still calm and grounded, too.

My sweeties rock. All of them, in their own ways, love and support me and play and help me grow and change. And they're interesting and adorable treasures, each in their own right. (happy, feeling-blessed sigh)

I've begun reading ozarque's Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense... and already have gotten insights. Both in my own choices of phrasing... and in how I've often set myself up in how I react to verbal pokes from others, coming out feeling both guilty and attacked. More awareness and verbal adroitness could both short-circuit the blame-flames and even turn the tables at times. Being able to defend myself when I need to, could mean I could relax and be less on guard otherwise...

Yesterday... ice skating, yard work, and some electrical installation in the kitchen. Chinese and cuddling while watching "The Office" with patgreene last night. Today... church, drop James off for garage-band rehearsal, more electrical work and perhaps cabinetry.

Once the kitchen is done, I'd like to spend more time in other avocations, too... perhaps have a garden again, or resume homebrewing now that I go to enough social events to distribute the end-products. ;-) I used to grow aerial cantaloupes and brew excellent lagers and dark ales, once upon a time, and still have the gear in the garage. For that matter, I still have an untapped pony keg of aged barleywine, waiting for some occasion...
