birds chirping
Feb. 9th, 2006 09:24 amA beautiful, sunny spring day here, full of birdsong...
Yesterday I left work early (well, 4pm) to watch the kids, but spent 3 hours in housecleaning, before
tenacious_snail came over. Got the living room in some semblance of order, or at least walking space, cleared the kitchen counters and wiped them, cleaned and sprayed tile cleaner in the bathrooms, did laundry, changed the towels. Put away laundry that was on my bed, and then washed my sheets and comforter (the new washer can hold an entire twin-size comforter!).
Les came by, we went out to Amici's for dinner then I drove her around Mountain View and Sunnyvale, to get an idea of neighborhoods in case she gets a job down here and moves. James meanwhile swept and mopped our floors, while we were out.
Upon returning home, we went into my room... a minor disaster had struck. I have a tiny bedroom, only 6x9 feet, the size of a large walk-in closet. It holds a twin bed, a nightstand/dresser and a chair, with shelves on one wall and a 5' long rail hanging from the 10' high ceiling from which my wardrobe hangs. Normally, to get or hang clothes, I stand on the bed and reach over. The rail had collapsed! All of my clothes were jumbled in a long pile across the room. Les and I moved them temporarily to
patgreene's room, where they currently cover her bed a foot deep. I'll need to put up new rails in my room and move the clothes back, before Pat returns on Sunday night.
Today... saw Les off early, made a hot breakfast for D. and K., did last night's dishes. Now I'm off to work... telecon at 10am, see CS afterward, all-hands at 1pm, dentist at 2pm, D to his therapy at 5pm, pick up James from band practice at 6:15. No evening plans.
