Wandering around the long weekend

tenacious_snail, who whisked me away to Chinese food and thence to Wine and Song, where we rendezvoused with patgreene and the kids.
On Saturday, Pat and I went across the bay to seeelissaann and J. and other friends over lunch... being sociable was fun, even if I wasn't temperamentally suited for dim sum.. And later on at home I worked during the afternoon practicing body work -- filling and painting the scratches in the Mustang. Pat and I went out for dinner at a formerly-favorite restaurant in Campbell (which was okay, but still not what it used to be) where we'd 2 years ago taken geekchick and nminusone.
Sunday... 200 miles of driving. To church, then drove up to SF to pick upelissaann and J., then down to SJC airport, then home. Later in the afternoon, across to San Leandro to see akienm, and we went together to Berkeley to feed kittens at the Monkey House, and back to San Leandro. Then I drove across the Bay Bridge and down to SFO airport to pick up cyan_blue, had crepes with her near the airport, and over to the Choirloft in Oakland to drop her off. And then finally back across the bay to home.
Followed yesterday by a cuddly, languid breakfast of pancakes and jam and syrup made bytenacious_snail for inflectionpoint and I. Yum. I took leftover pancakes with me yesterday afternoon as snacks while geocaching with cyan_blue and the kids... she has lots of photos in her post here. We found eight out of eight caches, as well as an hour messing about in a paddleboat. ;-) Then Geri headed off to work in her SF office, and I put together a BBQ at home... assisted by tenacious_snail (who made sangria ;).
Today... I've taken the day off, other than a morning telecon. Kevin was stung by a bee Sunday, his foot swelled yesterday and so I took him to his pediatrician this morning. Helpedpatgreene prepare for a phone interview this afternoon... otherwise I feel like I've mostly wasted the vacation day, and haven't accomplished anything.
