Happily on target
Today was the US Geological Survey "Defense Against Wild Animals" 1-day refresher course, at Coyote Valley Sporting Clays in Morgan Hill. We did 3 hours of classroom review in the morning, brown-bag lunch, then three hours of firing range drill before our written and range tests. I passed easily. :) Wielding a pump-action Remington 12-gauge shotgun firing slugs, I hit 7/10 in the target center, at varying distances, and the chief instructor K said that I was "lightning fast" and "your working the action was a thing of beauty". I got all my shots off in less than half of the alotted time. I guess I have a deft touch with some kinds of skilled repetitive motions ;-). Afterwards, I stopped by Lori's and chatted before heading home in time for dinner.
And I'm also very happy that my partner![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png) geekchick will be visiting here for nearly a week, here in two weeks for a conference. And I already had plans to see her next week in DC. :)
