Happy 5-year anniversary :)
May. 20th, 2007 10:54 amFive years ago today... I went downstairs at the Tyson's Ritz-Carlton to meet someone in person for the first time. I was a bundle of nerves, even though in hindsight we had both been pretty crushed-out online over the previous four months. A long dinner and a sudden sidewalk kiss later,
geekchick and I were dating with-mutual-intent. :)
Five years later, I still have dilated, puppy-eyed moments in her presence... still feel the separation when one of us heads home, still count down the days and minutes before a trip. We've gone through periods of bounciness and NRE, angst and external drama, a few arguments (even having standard numbers, at one point), being a reality-check and source of support for each other, coping with depression, coming up with ideal gifts and silly romantic gestures for each other, forming and later surviving the end of our triad, having Tuesday night phonecalls become a ritual-of-sorts... watching each other grow and change. Neither of us are still the same as we were five years ago. I love her differently, and more, and hope for more anniversaries in years to come. Happy 5th, dear!
