ups and downs
May. 27th, 2007 11:10 amIt hasn't been a good month, or week... lots of stresses at work, in my personal life, socially. And some sweeties and friends are having a tough time or are stressed by moves and accidents and other life events, just when I'm running short of resiliency to be able to be there for them as much as I'd like. I've been mostly burned-out, varyingly depressed with less energy. Coordination is lacking, and I keep making small silly mental and physical mistakes. Sigh. I nearly put James's acne cream on my toothbrush yesterday. I know that this is a temporary run, that things will eventually improve, and I should regain energy and confidence... but I have to request some patience or tolerance by others until I can rebound.
Yesterday, it was a struggle, with ups and downs. Bounces, even... I slept late (6 hours total, the best I've managed in 2 weeks!) and went over (I thought) to help
tenacious_snail, to rewire her electrical outlets and bolt her toilet down in her new apartment. Except that I was wrong, she needed me to bring the van instead and haul boxes instead. She was exasperated, I became defensive and withdrawn for the next hour or so, but we hauled her stuff into storage in Fremont. Then picked up her remaining laundry and plants from her old Bryant Ave. place.
I went home, took a quick nap and then gathered David and Kevin to go to Les's trampoline outing at Sky High Sports. They, er, jumped right in... I was lethargic and down and just wanted to be left to gather myself before going in -- and I'd never been on a trampoline before, let alone dozens side-by-side. Les pressured me, I became contrary and backed off even further, and finally only tried jumping for the final 5 minutes. Naturally, a minute in, I'd jammed my foot down hard by accidentally landing on the padded bar that bridges trampolines and catching and twisting it. I was in pain... tried to shake it off and jumped some more but kept falling and my coordination just seemed MIA. Today, my foot is sore, but walkable... probably just some bruised tendons. OTOH,
simplykimberly brought excellent cookies... Geri has some photos, here's one of me actually airborne. :)
patgreene had opted to miss the trampolines, and she headed over to a private birthday BBQ for the evening. James stayed at home. I took D&K over to Union City to join a
thechoirloft outing to go see the new "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. Sitting in the theater,
purplerabbit and I got to sandwich
cyan_blue between us, even if we talked over her head at times (well, Geri *is* short... ;). The movie was pretty good, IMO nearly as much as the original (could have used some editing, it was long), and the companionship was better. Definitely an upward bounce at the end of the day. (smile)
Today... church, then home now, then back at noon for the annual Pentecost picnic (wearing red, today). Perhaps some yardwork or geocaching later in the afternoon.
