Dec. 22nd, 2007

Work has been in its pre-holiday lull... not much other than end-of-year catchups. Travel vouchers, disk backups, office tidying and filing, that sort of thing. However, I've also begun making calls and contacts regarding a new set of responsibilities, this past week. At last week's lunar prospecting technology meeting at Carnegie-Mellon, it was decided to press forward with three field tests next year... two run by the rover technologies folks, one by lunar resources in November 2008. The latter is something I've been asked to put together, based on previous experience with field tests and analog sites. This week I contacted potential resources and started working on budgets.

On a personal level, everyone's been getting along well. [profile] patgreene was hospitalized overnight Tuesday with chest pains, but her heart and lungs checked out OK and she was released Wednesday. [personal profile] tenacious_snail and [personal profile] cyan_blue were supportive and loving. :) Prior to that, I'd had a relaxed date Monday with [personal profile] dawnd and a mixed-up lunch attempt Tuesday with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], exacerbated by my dead cellphone (I now have a loaner until a new Treo 755p arrives in a couple of weeks). Thursday I picked up my car with its new sound and alarm systems (a thief had broken in on Monday and trashed the Mustang). Yesterday I took James to donate blood (his first time!), and got my first new set of glasses in nearly a decade, followed by parties at Les's and for [personal profile] missk's birthday.

Today... pre-birthday brunch with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], shopping, then to an event at the Choirloft tonight.
