Summer Arctic travel plans

It looks like this summer's field season is going forward... my dates have been finally settled.

Wed. 7/21 SFO - Edmonton, probably via Seattle, arriving late afternoon
Thur. 7/22 (my birthday ;) Edmonton - Yellowknife - Cambridge Bay - Resolute - Devon Island (yes, four flights... weather permitting)

Wed. 8/4 Devon Island - Resolute
Thur. 8/5 Resolute ->Edmonton, arriving around 8pm

I'm lucky enough to arrive there at the beginning of the Edmonton Folk Festival, so if I can find a one-day ticket and a place to stay Friday night, I'd like to take a vacation day Friday, hang out with my friends in Edmonton, and return home on Saturday 8/7.

Oh no! I didn't realize your trip this year was going to coincide with folkfest. Not a whole lot of actual hanging out goes on there, you know -- it's all about the music, and it's really intense and focused. You sure you can't schedule a visit for the other end of your trip instead?

Oh, good luck with the folk festival! That would be fun if you could catch some of it.

Good thing you LIKE flying, since that's what you're getting for your birthday. Maybe you can get one of the small planes to do a loop in your honor. ;^D

Oh bugger..... looks like we'll actually probably miss each other.

I told Pascal orignally that I'd guarentee him the first 3 weeks of July. So presuming he actually gets back to me... I'm available from June 29th to July 29th, but would like to be back in Winnipeg no later than my birthday the 26th..... of course it's all dependant on what is actually required... It's hard making plans without knowing anything.
