I talked with my mom, [profile] scarlet1... my father begins his pulmonary therapy this week. If it *doesn't* work, he will have 3-4 years (still better than the 1-3 year estimate earlier). If it succeeds in arresting the further development of the disease, he could go on indefinitely. (crossed fingers) He actually managed to play a few holes of golf last week. Yay!

I still have issues of my own to deal with around my father, and I may as well go ahead. Anything could happen, anytime. But at least it feels less imminent. :)

I'm glad that your father still has a reasonably good quality of life and that you both get more time than you thought you had.

I'm so glad things aren't quite as dire as first reports sounded. I hope the therapy is benecifical.

Huh. I thought I commented on this yesterday, but apparently not. Anyway, that's excellent news.

Wonderful news. I know with going through my mom's illness anything positive is a bonus.Day by day, that's how I'm taking it.
