distant scheduling annoyance

(grumble) APC13 dates in San Diego (21-23 October) overlap the IAF Congress in Fukuoka, Japan (16-21 October), so my attending one precludes the other. Assuming that the IAF accepts my paper, anyway... this would also make it harder for [profile] patgreene to attend the next APC, given the kids at home.

(grin) must've been great... I had seats for the 1989 trans-Bay Series (just the A's home games, I missed the earthquake at Candlestick)
