My missing interests

While I'm sitting here in the office, waiting for someone to return before II go to Fry's and buy a VPN server (MS W2K, ick...) and a printer...

analog sites: places to go for study or testing things, that resemble harder-to-reach places. Like going to the Arizona desert or Antarctica to test planetary rovers, or studying periglacial ground polygons in the Arctic and comparing the process of their formation to the surface polygons on Mars. Not many people need these.

impact craters: given the end of the dinosaurs, and various Hollywood movies, I'm surprised at this one.

reusable launch vehicles: next-generation space shuttles and other means of getting things into space, without throwing away most of the vehicle every time.

vehicle health management: think of a rocket's equivalent of a central nervous system. Sensors are nerve endings, inputs are gathered-up from different organs (subsystems) and processed to sense incipient or current damage (analogous to pain).

V's here, time to run...
