Aargh! Caught in a tussle between the Office of Space Flight and the Office of Space Science, NASA Headquarters has just put my project on hold as regards deployment to Canada.

Condolences!!! And crossed fingers for a quick (and positive) resolution.

Remember...they also serve who sit and wait...

I take it this is just an issue of bureaucrqatic idiots worrying about paper pushing, or using this as an excuse to attack a project they don't like.

My commiserations!

Its stuff like this that makes me wonder about the point of continuing in academic research...
At least when you have to put up with idiots in industry you get paid better!

Worrying about paper-pushing, essentially. No one seriously believes that there are serious policy implications or security risks in travelling to Canada. But if the paper was pushed to the wrong department, then stop everything!

Hmmm... well, industry pays better with less bureaucracy, but IMO tends to be too short-term/bottom-line driven for my interests.
