various audits on various planes...

Today's Good Friday... I'm a bit down and contemplative. Went to a noon service instead of lunch, I'm fasting anyway.

[profile] patgreene seems to be getting better, and this morning I moved the Mustang over from the body shop to my mechanic. The damage is worse inside than I'd thought, when the wire harness jerked loose it shorted -- and started a tiny fire in the engine compartment. No way that happened independently of the collision, which is what the insurance adjuster is trying to claim. This was a 1/4" main power distribution cable, coming out of the alternator, broken at the terminal clamp.

Otherwise... I'm tidying past purchase logs and receipts, in preparation for a purchase-card audit of my 2005 NASA purchases next week. The overseas purchases of equipment, and lots of shipping costs, are undoubtedly drawing attention to me...

Thanks.

I found myself being somewhat more skittish while driving today, and wondering "well, what if another driver comes out of noplace, going too fast, and..."

Claim has been filed with my insurance; ten minute wait to talk to someone, and then I got disconnected. So called back, and waited again. I'm feeling resiliant.

Actually... you might be better off filing with *their* insurance, since CA is an at-fault state and the other party is clearly at fault. That way, you won't be responsible for your deductibles, or trying to collect the deductibles later from his insurance...
