An experiment...

Okay, I used to keep a paper diary. One with a small brass lock on the outside (which could be easily picked, but that's beside the point). I lost interest because I felt bad when I was busy and missed a day, and many entries were forced, basically expired to-do lists.

On the other hand, I seem to have no problem ruminating or posting to Usenet groups, including personal details. But I worry that Usenet really doesn't need the wasted bandwidth concomitant with my posting lots of personal accounts... a beauty of this approach is that the only folks downloading content would be those actually interested. Less waste.

Friends on mine (on alt.polyamory) use this means to make details of their lives available to their friends. But I'm not going to put anyone on my friends list until I'm certain that this won't announce my presence... I'd rather lurk for awhile, until I've decided whether this medium works for me.
