One disadvantage of not going East to visit relatives over this holiday period

there's no ready-made set of activities with various siblings and cousins...
Ah, see...in my mind, that's a plus. I hate having a ton of stuff I feel obligated to do.
For me, your planned weekend sounds just about right. Not too crammed with things I'm scheduled to do, plenty of time left open for me to either veg around the house or find something spontaneous to do, if I feel like it. If I had something officially planned for every day of the long weekend, I'd need a couple days off next week to recover from that. Last time I had something scheduled for every day of the weekend I just felt exhausted all day Monday, like I hadn't had time to recharge *at all*.
