Sigh...

Before this mess begins... I have refrained from discussing the likely war in my journal, to date. Even if this war is over in a week and accomplishes everything that this Administration claims (which I certainly doubt, but that's a separate discussion) that still won't justify the arrogant behavior, destruction of international institutions, breaches of trust with our (former) allies, and deaths of civilians that it will require. Both in a path-specific sense (a bad set of actions on the US's part) and in utilitarian terms (doesn't justify the cost). I believe that the current administration is out of control, and is consequently casting us as a rogue state before the rest of the world.

I may not have online access for awhile, as I'm driving down to LA this afternoon (with [personal profile] hopeforyou for meetings at JPL and Northrop.

How do the front gates look? I'm still packing this morning. Don't know how soon I'll be heading out.

Like you, I have refrained from discussing the impending war almost completely...my attitudes and opinions are too strong to really have any chance of discussing it rationally and not have it become a rant on my part.

Hate to say it, but as per Debka.com and what I think are correct timezone corrections, you were a few hours too late for that.
