No birthday parties, here

jayTalking to runeshower this morning, she seemed surprised that I've never had a birthday party, not even as a kid. We had a cake and gifts after that night's family dinner, growing up... the last five years, I've been in a tent in the Arctic in July (including a round-numbered birthday). And before five years ago, I had no local friends to invite. So no, never any parties in my honor... birthday or otherwise ;-).
This doesn't strike me as deprived or somehow weird, though... why would I expect otherwise? (scratches head)

I mentioned to someone that I had never had a teddy bear.....I couldn't BELIEVE the responses to THAT one! I have stuffed zebras though!!!
