After driving 370 miles from Mountain View south to Pasadena in four hours and twenty minutes... and spending most of yesterday and today working on a Mars Instrument Development Program proposal in automated Mars-prototype drill development that had to be mailed today. My colleagues at Georgia Tech and Honeybee Robotics didn't help by waiting until this morning to submit their text and budgets. And my boss's boss didn't help by calling me in for an hour-long snap briefing on my air traffic control project at 2pm, with only a few hours' notice. And four hours' sleep last night...

Nonetheless, I'm fast, and good at what I do, and can multitask under pressure... everything was done. The front office guy liked the presentation, especially a drawing that [personal profile] hopeforyou had just done over the weekend. The proposal made it to FedEx (with [profile] patgreene's help), and I'm excited about its approach. And we made it down here safely.

Yes, you clearly are all those things (as well as many other good and nice things beside :-)

Hope you sleep well tonight!

Thanks (smile). I have to remind myself lately that I have some useful qualities. And I slept very soundly... the lonely-strange-hotel-room scenario is one that any frequent business traveler must accept, even embrace in order to get things done.

Remind! Remind!

lonely-strange-hotel-room scenario

Been there, done that, learned to hate it. [livejournal.com profile] purplecthulhu is both better at coping that ever was I, and getting better at avoiding it too :-)

370 miles in 260 minutes? No time for pit stops I guess. Nor for traffic tickets! Glad you made it in one piece!

Your work sounds interesting. One skill I didn't learn in college is sleeping... yes, I'm a Georgia Tech grad :) G'night...

Actually, we did stop. Twice. One bio break at a rest area and another time to fill the gas tank.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
