Back home now, for 35 hours. I still have to finish my slides so I can print them tomorrow before leaving. Must buy gifts, must find someone that can proofread Japanese characters so I can print two-sided business cards, must do laundry and pack. Today was a fast day, tomorrow I can eat normally (jet-lag diet, also abstaining from caffeine).

Vehicle health management today in Alabama was, um, not exciting. Much of the same subject material that I've seen five times. They have to keep repeating the basics because the audience changes each time, but the 50 percent that doesn't change is getting bored... The flights home were likewise uneventful. There were a couple of minor ego-thwaps upon scanning LJ tonight, but not worth letting myself settle into blueness. OTOH, I'm amazed to discover that I've done a couple of things that [profile] mikz hasn't ;-).

At home, [profile] patgreene still seems strangely tense, even though her VIP Reading Day was a success (with actual celebrities, even ;) today. Probably related to my imminent departure, for 10 days... plus David's IEP tomorrow, schooling decisions and financial worries. I wish there were someone else locally to give her a hug or a talk or a cuddle while I'm gone away. Strange... in conventional social terms, I'm supposed to be afraid of things happening in my absence.

Sometimes when I read your posts, I wonder when you sleep.

During the work week, I only average 3-4 hours/night.

Id be happy to talk IEPs with pat any time. Not just from the perspective of a psychologist but from my perspective as a parent. It can be really intimidating.Hugs T

Thanks! The IEP was tense, but we found a compromise (one that David had himself suggested).

Glad to hear of a satisfactory compromise, and especially that it was David's idea. Yay! Hope this bodes well for next year.
