today's Kyoto visit

Walking along the shaded, canalside "Path of Philosophy" (which connects several temples), a delivery truck zipped past me:

Here are Gingakuji (first) and Kinkakuji temples, in order:

This one's especially for [personal profile] geekchick; on the way to the latter temple, I was amused to see one of many little neighborhood shrines. In this one, if you look carefully, the cups in the front are from a "Hello Kitty" design :-)

And that leaves out the moment when Pat called my cellphone, when I was crammed too tightly to move in a Kyoto city bus full of bouncing 6-year-olds...

Off to bed now, tomorrow I'll see Yuki for a couple of hours, then to the airport. Any last-minute requests for food, etc?

I love the pictures. :) The delivery truck looks both so right, and so wrong, in that context. :)

By "requests for food," is it too late to ask you to swipe a pizza? (Kidding, really ;) Domino's isn't my kink. :) )

(grin) the philosophy of pizza? I wasn't sure whether I was more amused or cynical, given the location... I suppose it's no tackier than the occasional vending machine (they're *everywhere*, even at temples (but not inside the temples)).

Hee! I can't really make out the Hello Kitty, but I trust you that they're there. =) Thank you for posting the pictures, I'm really enjoying them.

You (and others who've expressed their appreciation) are very welcome. Especially since I wish you had been here ;-).

Besides, I get to play with the new Casio Exlim credit-card-sized camera! It also takes AVI movies...
