Better

My midwestern sweetie had her stress-test-with-ultrasound today, and there's apparently nothing wrong with her heart. Whew. At the same time, they don't know what is causing the symptoms... she's too weak and queasy to drive, let alone meet me at the airport next week. Thanks to my friends for the collective good thoughts, wishes and prayers pointed in her direction. My primary even asked her women's Bible study group to put this sweetie on their prayer list, despite past friction with said sweetie ;-). Pleasantly surprising...

And I recovered my lost backup files, updated firmware and got my older Mac at work to boot with OS X, and had a long, intense discussion at lunch today with a local friend K (who is a poly co-worker in addition to being a wonderful person). And a similar experience this evening "listening" to a different friend vent via AIM.

If I had been able to make a smooth exit from right outside 3-turns, I would have passed my ice skating test tonight. But it went better than I expected.

Now if I could only get my house keys back from a different friend G ... someone that has not responded to recent e-mails. K's theory is that G can't actually locate the keys and hence is stalling for time until they turn up. Or else G is really angry with me, but I'd be clueless why... sigh.

Seriously, how can I get the keys to you? I haven't lost them; they're right here on the bulletin board.

(sheepish grin) Well, yes... I had sent a response offering to come by and get them, and also offered dinner if your household was interested. When I hadn't heard, and two later messages went unanswered, I figured that I had overstepped my bounds or something, thereby annoying you and Sinboy. Or else K's suggestion that the keys were missing. I didn't think of e-mail problems because I had seen you on LJ. I'm glad that neither of those cases is true... a classic rush-to-conclusions on my part. (self-thwack)
