A cake and everything!

jayI may not get to post this until Wednesday, because our communications link is still down... but Melanie and the kitchen folks put patgreene's ingredients to good use!
As you can see, they made a cake for 30... with lit candles inserted into a "43" :-). People sang... I was touched. That's never happened before. It lifted me up after an otherwise-frustrating day.
It was lovely... Pascal said "it's become a tradition to observe Brian's birthday here!" (to which someone added, "it's actually in October, this is just the official observance"...;).
Time to break out the Scotch...
