Early morning meanderings

Sitting alone late, a bit tipsy, I started writing random bits of verse about four people...



tail twitches
like a cat waiting for the moment
claws are there
but she'd rather sheath at home
keenly sighting her prey
while feigning disinterest
I wish she'd yawn and stretch in my lap

a temple with votive candles
purple and red
enigmatic mystery
are the doors open or shut?
Let candlelights illumine
generosity, thoughts and softness
more than any treasure

a curious child
bouncy happy
until she catches a mirror
and she shatters
willing herself
she catches rainbows in their prisms
I am blessed in her depth

Faithfulness and passion
are blessings
a social animal
but a lone retriever
wrap me up
I feel your heat
always alongside.
