Tipsy. Day went well, albeit echoey-solemn. SD and I got to know each other better tonight (not *that* way... she works for me as a student intern). Discussing the finer points of various substances. She didn';t quite talk me into surprising [personal profile] geekchick with a tattoo, but close.

Mellow buzz.
Easy haze of tilted self.
Pints and philosophy.
Swizzled connection.

Wait wait wait wait.... SD nearly talked you into a tattoo? When you have insisted that tattoos were "disfigurement" and stated that if I got one you would do your level best to never look at it? What the hell were you drinking? Or smoking? And where can I get some? : >

Hm. That's not how I read what he posted....I read it as "SD almost talked him into something *short* of a tattoo". But then, I can't be sure what he was trying to write as he was tipsy. *shrug*

Based on an earlier conversation, I'd say that Pat had it right. =) Not that I think there's any danger of Brian ending up with a tattoo at any rate, given previously-stated opinions on them.

Pat was right, but fortunately sanity, sobriety and self-control intervened.

Awwww. I would have liked to see what you decided you'd WANT for a tattoo! Tell us??

It was never decided, but possibilities included a Shuttle on the pad at dawn, a yellow shooting star across the right shoulderblade, or an erupting volcano... this all made much more sense at that time ;^).

I think they all make sense. :^) Though I did kinda like the notion someone had of the NASA logo. Though I suppose that might look kinda like branding... :^P

Also, just to clarify....

I was not annoyed by Brian's post (or his nearly getting a tattoo). I spent several moments giggling about it -- especially the thought of the merciless ribbing he would to get from [livejournal.com profile] geekchick and myself had he actually gone through with it. : >

I think he'd look cool with a tattoo -- what about a NASA-logo on his shoulder?

Bad,bad, bad, bad, bad idea. A piercing would have been even worse. And you didn't seem annoyed, just surprised.

No, no, piercings are not necessarily permanent. If you get one and decide you don't like it, you just take out the jewelry and let it heal up. If you decide you don't like your ink, there's not much to do about it short of expensive removal processes. If you one day change your mind and decide to get some metal, I bet both [livejournal.com profile] patgreene and I would be willing to come along and hold your hands (heck, I could get more myself while I'm at it). ;)

Temporary insanity. Under the influence of about four drinks over a three-hour period, suddenly... irreversive body modification sounded like a reasonable thing to do, just to surprise third parties. Fortunately, neither of us was remotely capable of driving anywhere...
