179 miles and 5 meetings
Sep. 4th, 2003 08:02 amTime to get ready for work... must fill up the car again, after lots of driving around yesterday. After another 2-hour-plus telecon about the upcoming deployment to Spain, I drove 84 miles roundtrip for a very pleasant lunch with
dawnd. Then sat in another meeting regarding requirements for remote-science software...
hopeforyou was mysteriously late, which turned out to be due to her 2pm meeting running an hour late.
She literally staggered in as we were dispersing... ashen-faced and disoriented. Seems similar to the same syndrome that hit her about the same time last year (due to an inner-ear infection). I wonder if she has an airborne allergic reaction, this time of year. Anyway, the NASA clinic was closed at 4:30pm, so I figured that the best strategy was to drive her home to SF (another 86 miles roundtrip). I saw
sinboy fleetingly as I dropped her off... this was also the first time I'd been to House Dreamland since their SF housewarming party, so I'd forgotten the directions to there.
Arriving home after fighting US101 southbound traffic, I gulped dinner and headed off again to "Back To School Night" at Kevin's classroom (a mere 9 miles roundtrip, but congested around the school). I'm dubious about his situation... he is seated furthest from the teacher, with those kids with the greatest disabilities seated in front. Which makes sense, but the level of instruction is below his abilities and he's already complaining about boredom at school.
Then, after jumping-to-conclusions online, I worked on slides for JL until about 2am before heading to bed.
