Had a nice lunch today with [profile] patgreene, after talking to the Sunday School director about David's behaviors. We have a workable strategy regarding the latter. This morning I visited my doctor at Stanford regarding my blocked-up left ear... due to a sinus infection, apparently. I also handed over a copy of my NASA physical results, including extensive lab results. My iron levels are high... the NASA doctor ignored it, but there is apparently some syndrome found among those with some Irish ancestry that leads to excessive iron levels retained. Hence another set of blood tests this morning.

This afternoon, after meeting with JL on the air traffic project and SD regarding our impact crater geophysics paper, I drove back to Stanford again for a 3-month pediatric-psych consultation for David. And then played this evening with my new cellphone (I received my SIM chip today for Spain).

Hereditary hemochromatosis? A friend of mine has it. It's one of those conditions you can live with quite comfortably, as long as you know you have it.

Right... my iron levels are only slightly above normal, but it's better to catch these things early if they exist. If the tests came back positive, I'd need to donate blood regularly...

What works with this doctor is his attention shifting... talking with parents, then with the child, and back again.
