Less than a week to go, here

With the weekend approaching, and possibly a slack day on Monday (drilling of the next borehole won't begin until midweek), it is time to begin wrapping up personal things... postcards, shopping, and gifts.

Work-wise, we've found life in hole #4, finished all of the data acquisition and archiving for that, transferred some of that data home for hopeforyou and KS to study, worked out the communications plan with CAB in Madrid, and the rolls of oxygen-impermeable plastic sheathing finally arrived today. Next week, I'll train my Spanish replacement (as both the local sysadmin and in imaging the cores), help get the next borehole started, then pack up and head home (leaving here Thursday morning).

This weekend... I'm thinking of visiting Arcos, then Gibraltar, staying nearby (Tarifa). Then perhaps going to Morocco (Tangiers) via ferry on a day-trip on Sunday. If so, I'll probably be offline until Sunday night (but my celllphone should still work).

Had some for lunch, as it happens... chicken and seafood and some veggies. I've gotten used to gambas (shrimps) being served heads-on...
