Stretching...
Dec. 14th, 2001 10:19 amAnother airport club lounge, this time in Memphis en route home. Piped-in random secular holiday music. Fancy furniture (sitting in an Aeron chair) walnut and stainless.
Huntsville was the site of another launch vehicle health management system design review. A quarterly... the last one with this troupe (Honeywell) was on 9/11. Really. They're the folks with whom I was stranded in Phoenix. I kept having flashbacks, every time a familiar speaker or viewchart popped up. Funny how such dissimilar things get neurally cross-linked.
At home... I'm actually hosting a small-scale social event next Monday, outdoor ice skating. Five people have RSVP'd, including Clairaide coming down from San Francisco (yay! I'm a bit flattered). And Pat is being supportive and watching the kids then, despite it being a local-poly-listed event.
Barbara's in town at home, down from Oregon until the end of next week. When we get together, that will undoubtedly test the current status quo at home... lunch with Julie was lovely (and the mildew in Pat's bathroom is correspondingly gone :).
And I haven't started Christmas shopping yet. At all. And I'm leaving (with Pat and kids) for Atlanta on 12/21, a week from today. Time to end the denial and confront consumer culture. Stretch...
