Fusion crusts...
Mar. 14th, 2002 12:43 amWell, four days of talking about planets and geology is coming to an end... tonight we had a dinner with the Antarctic Meterorite Search project to honor a leading geologist, mountaineer and our camp manager (John Schutt). He found the ALH84001 meteorite, among other things... has been to the Antarctic for 26 years in a row. And for the past five years to our Arctic crater site.
Afterward we congregated while they showed us their slides from their just-concluded field season... November to early February, and it is *much colder* I'd love to go and help them look for meteorites... maybe I'll apply for next year:-). Then hanging out in a bar, drinking beer and talking about lunar composition and anti-smoking laws...
Good night...
