Nov. 21st, 2002 07:51 amAnother day, another 7:30am teleconference. This one is about vehicle health management R&D, specifically that done under a particular contract with a large aerospace company. Given the chaos at higher levels of the space transportation program (viz. NASAWatch) , mostly I'm just listening to speculation on how the politics will play out... rather than any technical content.
Not that this particular contractor has been terribly technically-rich, anyway... lots of overhead.
Yesterday was more fun... I went to a 6th-grade classroom and taught a unit on plate tectonics and fault types. Much more enthusiasm, and I enjoy working audiences, even of 12-year-olds. And it was my oldest son's (James) birthday... we celebrated it at home. Afterward I slipped over to the Palo Alto coffee for a little while and talked with various friends, and was invited to lend my robotics expertise to a group's Burning Man artcar.
