Just got a call from [profile] patgreene, and they're coming home soon. David's okay. The object had passed down too far to retrieve... so unless he has further trouble, we simply have to examine his um, output for a week or so until the object is found. Time to haul out the old potty-chair from storage...

I'm not sure if I'm going to put the socket back in the tool chest, after this trip... :/

Otherwise... after a run to IKEA (new plates) and lots of grocery shopping earlier today, I've started cooking. Currently I'm roasting sweet potatoes in the oven, in preparation for a casserole that I'll make around this time tomorrow.

After last Saturday's anniversary, I wanted to offer up my favorite JFK quote here... and I think it is an idea that extrapolates to many areas of endeavor. Even including interpersonal relationships, as much as space technology development ;-).

I spent a large part of this afternoon on AIM... but not slacking, instead working remotely and interactively with [personal profile] hopeforyou on our education/outreach proposal. Which was finished... in time. Anyone not knowing any better might have thought I was just wasting time ;-).

Of course, if it isn't selected, arguably it was a waste of time anyway, but that's different.

Otherwise... I was supposed to see my boss's boss today regarding my career prospects... he left me waiting for a half hour at 11am, then popped out and rescheduled for 3pm, then cancelled that appointment after lunch. But I talked with my division chief, and the air traffic division chief, and they're both supportive of me, FWIW.
