For the kind thoughts and prayers. My dad came through the pacemaker installation OK and is resting in the hospital. They'll probably send him home tomorrow.

The telephone rings in my house at 7:30am. News from Atlanta? No, it's JL, requesting a copy of someone's paper... grr. I let it roll over to our answering machine. I'm tempted to not acknowledge it... go passive-aggressive, since I can't tell him off directly at work.

A longer week might be better...

Facing the end of a very busy, stressful week... I wish it were longer. Because coming up is the oft-dreaded down time, the weekend. No plans, as usual, other than Kevin's skating lesson. (fidget) Not helped by this seeming to be a peak social period for many of my friends.

I thought about asking patgreene out to see ROTK tonight... but she's still too weak. So I may actually go back to the office after the kids are to bed.

Then, there's the question of how to occupy myself for the next two weeks off... (shakes head). KId-wrangling, travel, and helping my mom will keep me busy some of the time. Otherwise... it's like a weekend, only larger...

Ridiculous

It will cost more to get my two adults and 3 kids to/from SFO airport ($310) than the cost of my round-trip ticket from there to Atlanta ($280). Even with work covering part of the former (because I'm doing some business on the trip), that's painful.

And... JL is spending 12/20-30 in Sarasota, an hour from where we'll be 12/26-31.
