Yesterday... I thought I'd try to eliminate a skipping cylinder on the Mustang by changing the spark plugs, which were overdue for it. Heh. It took three hours and four stores to get eight plugs... which turned out to be the wrong size. Someone had modified the engine to accept a larger-size sparkplug. I didn't know this. Then I returned the first batch, and spent another 2 hours finding the right plugs... a size typically used for Checker cabs and 1960s Chryslers. And one of the old plugs would not budge, so I finally left it in place. The engine... runs rougher than before. A wasted, frustrating day... I'll end up just taking it in for a tune-up to our mechanic.

There was friction at home and back-and-forth discussion about my going out last night... but I greatly enjoyed [personal profile] questioner's birthday party. Cheese and chocolate fondue, and birthday cake... and a chance to socialize and see friends and meet new people. I needed something like that, especially after the way the day had gone before. ;)

For those interested in such things, the Forest Service has a Mt. St. Helens webcam facing the volcano:

If it suddenly stops, that could be a sign of something interesting happening...
